I am an Information Security Specialist with a background in policy development, legislative compliance, employee education and risk management. At the Co-op I am responsible for the development and enhancement of the Co-op’s information security policies and standards, making them understandable, accessible and reflective of best practice. Conducting research on colleague requirements, technology capability, and the wider industry position. I am particularly interested in methodology and technique to enhance employee engagement and compliance with information security policy and information rights legislation.
Previously working for a leading media company, and before that an emergency response organisation, I have seen and worked on a wide variety of security risk management challenges in complex environments.
I have led on developing the Information Security work experience programme where we introduce Co-op Academy students to the opportunities available within Information Security. From this, I gained an interest in education and wanted to do more to support the great work already done by our Academies. I was pleased to join the Co-op Academy of Stoke-on-Trent’s governing board as a Co-op sponsored Governor, where I also sit on the Finance and Operations subcommittee.
