In 2018, our progress scores were the highest of any non-selective school in Stoke-on-Trent and we had the highest grades in English and maths of any secondary school in the north of the city.
We were visited by Ofsted in November 2017 and they agreed that we were a “good school with outstanding features”. Our “outstanding” feature was deemed to be “personal development, behaviour and welfare”.
The growing number of our former students are going on to further study at university. We have seen a growth of over 400% in our former students who are going on to university study.

Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent 2018 GCSE Results
This year was a huge success for our students in their GCSEs. The academy and its students celebrated record levels of attainment which made it the highest attaining secondary school in the north of Stoke-on-Trent (numbers of students gaining a “strong pass 5+) in both English and maths). Our results are the most rapidly rising GCSE results in the city.
The main measure of school effectiveness is published at the end of September / early October called Progress 8 (found at https://www.gov.uk/school-performance-tables). Provisionally the academy should have one of the strongest Progress 8 scores in the city and in the region.
Progress 8 Score = +0.24 (this is an estimate and places the academy in the top 25% of all schools nationally)

The headline figure of Progress 8 puts the Academy in the top third of all schools nationally for the second consecutive year. This year the GCSEs in English and maths were graded 9-1 and the other GCSEs were graded A*-G.

The Academy was very pleased with the GCSE results this year. In every major indictor the results improved and this was against a national picture of decline.
