Another Great Community Event

Another Great Community Event

Last Friday, we kicked off the weekend in style, as we once again invited the local community into the Academy.

Over 85 people came to our Easter Egg Hunt, with parents; carers and children enjoying an hour and a half of Easter fun.

The event started with visitors painting their own eggs, as well as making their own bookmarks and designing their own Easter cards.

As well as enjoying a fabulous range of Easter cakes and sweets; teas and coffees, all visitors got to meet our award winning CYL’s (Co-operative Young Leaders) who organised and ran the event. The CYL’s were pivotal in the success of the evening, as they interacted with everyone in the main hall before setting up their own zones for the egg hunt.

All visitors mixed brilliantly and formed their own teams to take part in the egg hunt. With a total of 12 zones to explore (and 12 eggs to find each) the teams worked well together to ensure they completed each zone (with the aid of a map and the CYL’s).

On top of this, they also attempted to solve the Easter riddles that were posted throughout the Academy.

Once each team had completed the hunt and returned to the starting point, they were rewarded with their choice of egg (kindly donated by our local Co-op store on High Lane).

Thank you to all those who attended the event. It was great to meet you all and share laughs and fun. We hope to see you all again at our upcoming events.
