I began my career as an English teacher in 2002 at the predecessor school, Brownhills High School. In 2005, I was appointed as Second in charge of the English Department and, in 2010, I became Head of the Communications Faculty at the Academy. Leading the English Department was a huge honour but I am now looking forward to my new role as Assistant Vice Principal in charge of KS4 and Progression.

I am extremely proud to be from Stoke-on-Trent and I care a great deal about our city and the local area. The Academy plays an important and integral role within the community, supporting students and instilling in them the confidence and self-belief to enable them to fulfil their potential and achieve their goals and not to be afraid of doing so.

Since the Academy opened, I have seen the success of our students grow, year upon year, and I believe that this will only continue. Working at this Academy has clearly demonstrated to me that a positive attitude, plenty of determination, and sheer hard work can achieve a great deal, for the benefit of our students and our city.
