In science students use observations and experimentation to explain and describe natural phenomena. Students at the Academy develop investigation skills where they can independently research, plan and complete practicals where they can conclude and evaluate results.
The Academy has a fully equipped science department consisting of a multi-purpose laboratory, three studios with demonstration benches and three fully fitted laboratories. Each of the laboratories has an IWB and modern equipment to assist in the delivery of science lessons. The department has its own ICT areas where students can work independently as well as class sets of laptops where they can use computer programs to assist research and the development of scientific skills.
We have seven specialist teachers and one supportive science technician who all work together in the faculty to assist every student to reach their full potential, therefore helping them to become scientists who can investigate ideas, develop observational skills, analyse and critically evaluate.
