On Friday 22nd June, Year 9 student Katie delivered a speech to the delegates at the SASCAL Senior Leadership Conference at Cranage Hall.

Her speech, entitled ‘The Butterfly Effect’, focused on the importance of kindness and the difference that random acts of kindness can make to the world.

Katie also conducts fantastic transition sessions with local primary schools, including how to debate properly, using “How to Train your Dragon” as an effective resource material.

Katie has continued to do the Academy proud with her public speaking, having reached the final of the SASCAL Youth Speaks competition in March, with her team-mates, Bailey and Millie. Well done Katie!
