Dr Alconcel, whose remarkable career includes key achievements working with NASA on groundbreaking space missions, shared insights into the challenges and possibilities of lunar living. Our students were captivated by her inspiring journey in space science and the cutting-edge research she described.

The session sparked real curiosity, with students asking a range of thoughtful and intelligent questions that impressed everyone. In addition to the lecture, students were amazed by the sheer size and scale of the university campus, a motivating glimpse of where their studies could take them in the future.

Ms Williamson, Assistant Headteacher, reflected on the day: “It was a fantastic opportunity for our Year 7 students to learn from such an accomplished scientist.
