I'm Kimberly Barnett, I am the Academy community pioneer for Co-op Academy Stoke-On-Trent.

A little bit about me, I have lots of experience working with young people, teaching Geography in secondary schools for over 20 years and have worked at Co-op stoke since 2015. I still teach in the Academy 3 days a week. Over this time I have had the opportunity to really get to know our students, their families and the community that we serve. I believe in working my hardest to bring out the best in our young people, be that in the classroom or in their wider daily lives. 

A Community Pioneer is someone who acts as a link between our academy and the wider local community. This role allows me to get more involved in our local area, making links with local charities, businesses and other organisations with the overarching aim of improving the well being of our young people and their families. Ultimately we want our young people to leave our academy as happy, healthy and well rounded individuals and my role will help to facilitate this.
