Golden Envelope Day

Golden Envelope Day was one of the most exciting moments of the school year, as we proudly revealed our new cohort of Scholars, Year 7 CYLs, and Student Council members. The anticipation was high across the Academy, with students eager to discover who had been selected for these prestigious roles.

The golden envelopes were handed out during tutor time, adding a sense of ceremony and excitement for our new Scholars. As each envelope was opened, the students learnt if they had been chosen for the Scholars' Programme, recognising their high level of academic ability. The rest of the student leadership roles, including Year 7 CYLs and Student Council members, were revealed via email later in the day, continuing the buzz throughout the school.

The Scholars' Programme, guided by the motto Labor Durus Omnia Vicit—"Hard Work Conquers All"—is designed to not only recognise academic excellence but to provide students with opportunities to thrive beyond the national curriculum and outside the classroom. As Scholars, these students will be challenged and supported in ways that foster intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and leadership skills.

Ms Williamson, Assistant Headteacher, shared her thoughts on the day: “Golden Envelope Day was such a highlight. It’s fantastic to see so many students stepping up to take on leadership roles and making the most of the opportunities offered to them. We are incredibly proud of this new cohort, and I have no doubt they will excel in their new responsibilities.”

This memorable day celebrated both individual achievement and the Academy’s commitment to fostering leadership, responsibility, and academic excellence. We look forward to seeing how these Scholars and student leaders will make their mark on Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent.
