REACH Programme Students Visit Balfour Beatty
Students from Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent recently took part in their first visit as part of the REACH Programme, heading to Balfour Beatty’s HS2 office for an engaging day of hands-on learning.
The REACH Programme is designed to equip students with practical work experience, mentoring sessions, and valuable certifications, helping them develop employability skills and gain insights into a variety of careers. During the visit, students explored the many roles and skill sets required for success in a large organisation like Balfour Beatty, the UK’s largest construction and infrastructure provider.
Mr Baillie, Careers Coordinator, reflected on the day: “The REACH Programme is a wonderful opportunity for our students to develop key employability skills in a real-world context and to develop a greater understanding of the many roles and skill sets that go into the success of any business. We are pleased to be working with Balfour Beatty again this year and have enjoyed a fun and informative day of hands-on activities at their HS2 office that have challenged our students and helped them to improve their teamwork. We are excited for the next visit!”
This visit is the first of many in the REACH Programme, providing students with invaluable experiences that bridge the gap between education and the workplace. We’re incredibly proud of their enthusiasm and engagement as they take the first steps in this exciting programme.
