Year 9 Girls Take Part in Microsoft Girls IT Day

As part of Women's History Month, a group of Year 9 girls from Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent attended Microsoft Girls IT Day at UA92, joining students from 10 other schools to explore the role of women in the future of AI technology.

The event was an exciting opportunity for students to learn about advancements in AI, discuss the importance of female representation in tech, and take part in engaging workshops designed to develop their digital skills. Many of the students had already been involved in the InnovateHer programme at the academy, and this event allowed them to build on their knowledge and aspirations for a future in the industry.

The trip was arranged by Mr Jennings, Trust Lead for Computing, and we would like to thank both Mr Jennings and Mrs Canning for supporting our students on this fantastic experience.

A huge well done to all the girls who took part—we hope this event has inspired them to consider the exciting opportunities available in the world of technology!
